πŸ”₯5 ADHD tools I CAN'T live without

The better your daily structure, the easier it is to manage ADHD.

I know this sounds hard and feels like we are bound to our daily routine. But if you can fill your routine with things you enjoy, love and give you flow, you realize you don't want "freedom".

You realize that the so-called "freedom" we see online and on social media is not making people, including yourself, happy.

Real happiness, satisfaction and life progress happen through the things we can do regularly and discover a deeper meaning behind them.

A routine gives your mind freedom to worry less, minimize distractions and retain mental capacity.

And with these 5 digital tools, I can stay in a flow state more effectively and continue making progress and executing my life's work. (purpose)

I will not include ChatGPT, because this is obviously a helpful one.

1) Milanote

This is a simple whiteboard canvas. So simple that your ADHD mind can focus on creating a mind map. In my opinion, if a tool can do too much, for example, Notion, it might be challenging to keep it organized and effective.

I still use Notion daily and also have a Notion template that I use every day for my YouTube videos. However, to get there, it took me years of learning, and only after I had organized my ADHD mind was I able to use it effectively.

Milanote keeps it simple and utilizes a folder structure, allowing you to create an unlimited number of folders, much like your desktop, which is a unique feature. No other canvas on the market has implemented this approach.

Two negative things about Milanote:

  1. It costs $10 monthly.
  2. I have been using it for 2-3 years, and there has been little to no innovation or improvement. It remains simple, but maybe too simple….

2) Apple Reminders and Calendar

If you are an Apple user, I think there is nothing better than Apple Reminders and Calendar combined.

You have everything at a glance and can tick tasks and reminders across all devices, including Windows, using a web browser.

If anyone is interested, this is how my calendar as an ADHD Creatorpreneur looks:

I try to keep every day the same, so my mind knows what to do without having to use unnecessary mental capacity, and I can just flow and execute, as mentioned at the beginning.

3) Grammarly

I think many ADHD people suffer with grammar or writing, a common problem I have read about in many books. ADHD people have a higher tendency towards dyslexia, according to a book by Richard Branson.

I was one of these people for my entire life until I began writing daily. I always thought I had dyslexia.

What really helps me with writing and improving my grammar is using Grammarly.

  • It corrects your entire writing across all devices.
  • Provide you with better words and sentences, and subconsciously improve your writing.
  • Can rephrase entire sentences, documents or improve your tone of voice into different tonalities.
  • And it can even give your entire company a cohesive brand tone and remind employees that this style does not align with the company's writing tone.

Negative things:

  • The free version is minimal.
  • The monthly plan is costly, so consider switching to a yearly plan and then paying $12 per month.

Other than that, for me, writing online is a non-negotiable, despite the costs.

4) Readwise Reader

Readwise Reader started as an app that integrates or saves your read highlights from Kindle to Notion, Obsidian, and other platforms.

And then they released their own reader app, and are probably undefeated. ItΒ΄s like a reading app on crack.

  • You can save and read PDFs, Articles, books, tweets, and even videos, which automatically transcribe the entire YouTube video, allowing you to watch and read simultaneously. This is huge for ADHD people!!!
  • You can organize any highlight from any of the things I just mentioned with tags, notes and even ask AI or a ghost reader. Additionally, it saves all your information, allowing you to ask yourself specific questions and refer to quotes and highlights you have saved.

Yes, this costs $12 a month, but it is 100% worth it. Probably one of the best investments in my entire life so far. With buying Nvidia stocks, haha.

5) Kortex

Which you probably assumed.

Kortex is the software combined with Readwise Reader that changed my ADHD brain from chaos to clarity.

My entire mind, productivity, business, and life changed after I started using Kortex, or generally using a second brain. You could use any other second brain app. I can only provide information about Kortex as a second brain or Notion "trying to be one".

The point is not the app itself, but how writing, thinking, organization, hashtags, and interconnected thinking (which is particularly beneficial for ADHD people) combine seamlessly into an interconnected world.

And the best part is that it is free.

I am not sure about the limitations, since I paid at day one.

I can't say anything bad about it, except that it is still in beta and has minor bugs.

Additionally, Kortex will soon be renamed to Eden, which will undergo a comprehensive rebranding with integrated Canvas features, including AI, videos, and a folder structure.

I think this will eliminate Milanote as a viable option for me as a canvas. But time will tell.

If you want to give Kortex a try (the only affiliate link I have, but it's free, so I don't earn anything)

I go into more detail about organization and my chaos to clarity method in the 7-day chaos to clarity challenge, which is a free mini email "course". :)

Other than that, I hope this was insightful and hope it helps you!

Until next time.
