🔥How To Be More Decisive.

Most people think fear means stop.

But fear is proof you’re moving in the right direction.

They became comfortable in their daily lives that every action they take that is not predictable is avoided.

This keeps them stuck for years and doesn't allow them to move forward in life, and they stay in a constant loop of anxiety and inaction, creating more and more resentment towards themselves and their lives.

When I sit in the car, driving in a city I have never been to before, sure, I'm anxious and scared, I don't know anything about it.

I am in a new territory.

That's why I use Google Maps to decrease the anxiety and have more data (information) on when and why I should turn right at the next crossroad.

I stop worrying because I create predictability.

I know exactly:

  • When to turn right.
  • When to switch lines.
  • And which route to take.

If you have knowledge, wisdom or have done it before, your anxiety shrinks and you can decide faster which road you want to take.

In this sense, Google Maps is your mentor, the tool that solves the problem of clarity on which decision you should take.

But what if you don’t have such a tool or mentor — how do you find clarity in uncertainty?

Strengthen Your Inner Compass And Extend Your Inner Map

If you have never been to the place, it will not show on the map.

To explore your inner map, you need an inner compass, one that shows you North, East, South and West.

A compass, where you can precisely extend the size of your map and "unlock" the covered spots.

1) The Minecraft Map and Compass

If you have ever played Minecraft (which many people have), you can craft a compass and a map.

The Compass:

The compass in Minecraft has a red direction line and always points you towards your starting point. (where the game started)

The point about the compass in Minecraft is that the "red line" in the compass serves as a guiding thread for your life, pointing you towards your creation.

→ It is the cycle of life.

You are born as a newborn (with an undeveloped sense of self), develop into an individual "self", and then revert to a childlike state again. This pattern can be observed in older individuals who exhibit childlike behaviours. (Shakespeare called it “second childishness”) This can be seen as a form of psychological entropy, preparing the soul to ascend or reincarnate.

→ In this sense, your inner compass should not point you towards the North. It should guide you towards your life's purpose (individualism) and help you return to "the beginning" by consistently executing your life's purpose. (like the infinity sign)

We are all here for a reason; the goal is to "discover" the reason.

The more you progress towards your purpose (your essence), the more you understand you just "want" to return to the source. (the beginning)

Your purpose is the one that brings you closer to the source (the beginning, the end and the entire cycle itself).

Whatever brings you closer to your inner self brings you closer to the source; the more you distance yourself from your inner compass and map, the more you are restricted to negative thoughts and the more you distance yourself from love (the source).

→ The compass should be there to guide you, and you should never lose the red line (the guiding line) of your life.

“The Secret of Happiness lies in looking at all the wonders of the world and never forgetting the two drops of oil in the spoon.” - The Alchemist (Book)

You might want to discover for a while "the east", but you always want to come back to your "guiding red line" (purpose), pointing you towards "North" (your spawn point → the source).

(I don't know if Notch, the Creator of Minecraft, intentionally placed this. Still, most games and (older) movies have a deeper layer of understanding—The Matrix, the Marvel Universe, Alien, etc.)

The Map:

The map in Minecraft looks like this:

You unlock the sandy "grey" area by exploring it, widening your map and being able to know where you are going, until you discover a new region.

For this new region, you need to craft another map and uncover the sandy "grey" area once again.

The more you explore, the more maps you need, and the bigger your map wall (globe) becomes.

This is similar to our inner map or "mind travelling", which improves with the creative mechanism and mental imagery. (Book: Psycho-Cybernetics)

Let me explain:

The more areas you explore, books you read, businesses you build, problems you solve, the more you extend your inner map and uncover more "grey" areas.

Life is a video game; you just need to learn how to play it.

Minecraft doesn't have a manual because there is no exact path to follow; whatever and however you achieve it, and get to the "end" (which is just the end of the one storyline) is entirely left to the player and the path they choose.

You can take any direction, discover any area you want, and go infinitely, with infinite maps. However, you should never forget "where you come from," and the compass will always direct you back when you are ready to return.

How does this help you to be more decisive?

If you have an anchor point, such as a compass, which always points you towards the beginning, you will never feel lost in the big world.

The path back to the beginning is the purpose (the journey itself); it is your direction and focus, however you want to return, with whatever inventory (collected things) is your choice.

Some people just like to explore nature, and go "light weight", some people like the goods you can craft and enhance their experience and exploration. Others want to explore dungeons, collect diamonds and find hidden treasures left and buried by centuries of mud. Others, again, like the challenge and explore the Nether, going through hell (pain), but will be heavily rewarded for accomplishing the challenge.

→ If you don't know what you want to build or create when you return home (closer to the spawn point), you don't know what to fill your inventory with.

The inventory will change depending on your goal when you return home.

  • To build a house, you need wood, stone, sand and clay.
  • To fight the dragon, you need Ender Pearls, a bow and arrows, flint and steel and diamonds.
  • If you want to build a farm with animals, you need bone meal, seeds, apples, and other fruits and vegetables.

Your inventory is limited, so you need to learn to let go of the things you really don't need.

→ A decision can only be made if you have a singular direction, and everything that does not lead you closer to this goal should not be considered execution.

Most people do too much and have too many goals simultaneously, leading to the failure to achieve any of them or not having any goals at all, as they become distracted by everything.

Don't Fear Making Mistakes

Bad decisions stem from the fear of making mistakes.
There are no bad decisions, only a steady pull back toward your inner map.

People are so afraid of making mistakes that they avoid the biggest mistake of them all: not making mistakes.

Mistakes are the foundation of clarity because mistakes often create pain, and pain is life's greatest teacher.

My definition of pain:

Pain is a form of feedback from the universe, indicating that you are not in alignment with reality.

Pain is the gift that nobody wants, but everybody needs.

It is your most trustworthy teacher as you navigate through life.

Pain provides honest feedback regarding how your behaviour interacts with the world and how your mental models align with reality.

Pain will never lie to you, pain will not try to protect your feelings, pain will always tell you the truth in a way that your partner, your parent, your therapist, your priest, no one will be able to do as directly, consistently, and forthrightly.

→ Mistakes are there to be made, to learn and grow.

Every mistake is a step closer to your goal.

The more you avoid making mistakes or avoiding pain on purpose (too comfortable life), the less you grow.

Think of it in this way:

  • Training is pain.
  • Starting a business is pain.
  • Handling difficult conversations in relationships is pain.

→ But how do you feel after training?

→ How do you feel earning money through your own hands and seeing the success of your business?

→ How do you feel after solving a big problem in your relationship and the release of it?

Happiness does not come from pleasure, which you can see in the world right now, where the majority of people are addicted to pleasure and lonely and depressed, staring at their phones all day and not having any challenge in life.

Happiness is the reward of the pain felt before.

Someone is truly wise if they no longer experience much pain in their life, because they have learned the lessons.

Someone unhappy and unsuccessful is not wise.

How To Be More Decisive (The Summary)

Be anxious, be scared, but do it anyway.

You can only learn from it if you failed.

2) Have a reward for your failure, a reward so big that the pain will be worth it.

If you suffer for 10 years in this business pursuit, but you create generational wealth, I would strongly assume it was worth it.

Don't risk your life for a small reward or a job; the reward is not worth the cost.

The 10 years you have invested in a company could have been your own company, and a leverage that only founders, board members, or investors receive.

3) Gather more information to reduce anxiety.

Anxiety and fear only occur in the unknown.

If you know what is going to happen and where you will be, you are not scared or anxious.

Educate yourself so much that you know the theoretical outcome or have positive affirmations, that "what bad should happen?" (in a realistic sense)

  • For instance, if you start a business and it fails, what are the costs and potential rewards?
  • If you don't talk to the girl or boy beside you, what are the costs and potential rewards?

Does the potential reward outweigh the cost?

In both examples mentioned: Fuck yeah!

4) You need to feel it before you earn it.

Most people imagine the outcome, the glory and the strength.

But they don't feel it.

If you don't feel it (emotionally) and you don't think it (rationally), you won't achieve it.

Emotions and thoughts need to align.

Thoughts are easy (conscious), but the emotions (subconscious) are far more difficult and a deeper level hard to tap into.

  • Your thoughts are represented as your mind.
  • Emotions are represented by your heart.

Both of them need to align to be successful.

You need to feel the victory before it happens.

If you need to change your environment, the books you read, the people you surround yourself with, or the daily challenges you face, it might be worth trying.

5) Understand what you want and find your singular focus, the one you are obsessed with.

Most people struggle to decide what they want because they lack a clear sense of boundaries.

For example, I know that whatever helps me focus, clarity, and productivity in my business is worth every single penny.

  • I eat clean and avoid sugar and fast during work hours to keep my mind sharp, my gut healthy, and my brain clear of brain fog, because I know it's essential for my business. This is the easiest diet hack ever: if you have a purpose, and the diet is distancing you from it.
  • I know that 4-5 work hours are the only way I can reliably focus, so they have become sacred to me. No meetings, appointments, emails, or phone calls will distract me from this.
  • Active rest is crucial for creativity and productivity. I know if I don't train, especially outside every single day, my focus and sleep suffer, which again distracts me from my life's work. So, not training is again not an option, I consider.
  • I sometimes spent thousands of euros just to maintain my clarity and avoid getting distracted or blocked from my flow state.

→ Everything that pulls me apart from my goals feels "disgusting" to me, because I am "disgusted" by how my mind and life were before this business.

The chaos in my mind, the people pleasing, the lack of autonomy, the yo-yo effect of periodic summer diets, and the boredom I have felt from not being in a routine.

Hope this was helpful.
