"Entrepreneurs often share many of the common ADHD traits but never get an official diagnosis."
Famous entrepreneurs with ADHD:
- Virgin Group founder Richard Branson
- JetBlue founder David Neeleman
- Ikea founder Ingvar Kamprad
- Huffington Post founder Ariana Huffington
- Charles Schwab
- Tim Ferriss
There are speculations that even Leonardo da Vinci (one of the greatest minds of all time) or Albert Einstein had ADHD.
And many more like:
- Jim Carrey
- Ryan Gosling
- Johnny Depp
- Howie Mandel
- Emma Watson
- Trevor Noah
- Will Smith
- Channing Tatum
- Will.i.am
- Justin Timberlake
- Dave Grohl
- Justin Bieber
- Adam Levine
- Michael Phelps
- Simone Biles
"ADHD traits such as hyperactivity, divergent thinking, flexibility of thought, passion orientation and perceptual curiosity mean adults with ADHD can make excellent entrepreneurs if they can learn to focus on the right things and overcome their tendency toward distraction and procrastination."

Perhaps some of you are already aware of this, but the real question is, how can we leverage this to become entrepreneurs and gain an advantage?
The Path To ADHD-Entrepreneurship
As I mentioned in past newsletters or challenges, the biggest issue I faced in my past startup was that I just didn't enjoy it at all, which led to unhappiness and sheer procrastination.
Sure, I have completed my daily work, but I could have done it 5 times faster if I had enjoyed the process.
The problem with ADHD is that we need this hyperfocus and flow; without that, our mind just does everything else or creates entropy (chaos).
If I were to tell my younger self the exact steps to conquer ADHD, learn to manage it, become finally focused and thrive more in life, business, productivity and mind, it would be these steps (based on my current knowledge):
1) Discover your purpose:
Your anchor point is the singular focus that is slowly "healing" your brain. The ikigai (prompt) can help to refine it, and then the purpose needs to be discovered in oneself.
If a human individual, despite having ADHD, discovers their purpose, their life and work align better, and in most cases, this leads to the removal of procrastination. Purpose is always connected to self-discovery and self-actualization; whatever brings you closer to it is worth pursuing.
You don't need to travel anywhere to achieve that. It is buried inside your soul; you just need to learn how to access it or "travel inside of your mind".
A past newsletter which goes deeper into purpose and decision-making.
2) Digital And Mental Organization:
One thing I would wish to understand earlier is that ADHD minds are naturally scattered and unorganized, or their gut is inflamed and their nervous system is wracked through trauma. (or all at the same time)
For digital and mental organization, I have created a new version of the "7 days from chaos to clarity challenge" (announced Sunday), feel free (and it is free) to join here (by only clicking on the button, no need to do more):
3) Clarity through daily reading and writing:
I read for 2 years straight (nearly) every single morning for at least 30-60 minutes, but my mind did not really find clarity. I would say I have done a dopamine detox. I was always against writing because I thought I had dyslexia, and I was so bad at it. However, I've come to realize that writing is just a skill we can develop.
The only thing that consistently gives me clarity, helps me articulate my thoughts, and learn faster (which is the key driver of success in life and business) is through daily writing.
Nothing else ever gave me more clarity than writing.
4) Wisdom to build a sustainable business:
Wisdom is the only way to manage either life or business consistently. Without wisdom, your business will inevitably fall apart sooner or later. The moment you stop enjoying learning and growth is the moment life becomes dead, both physically and mentally.
Life is a constant of development and evolution.
It is your evolutionary destiny to use what is unused, to learn and keep on learning for as long as you live. To choose this destiny, to walk the path of mastery.
It is The Human Adventure.
I will talk more about this topic in the upcoming Saturday Newsletter.
Thanks for reading!
Until next time,
Jeff
